OPTIMIZATION OF DILTIAZEM HYDROCHLORIDE NANOPARTICLES FORMULA AND ITS RELEASE KINETICS EVALUATION

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum formula diltiazem HCl-loaded chitosan nanoparticles due variations in speed and duration stirring evaluating release kinetics vitro using DDSolver.
 Methods: method used prepare is ionic gelation. gelation involves an cross-linking between cations on backbone anion, such as sodium tripolyphosphate (Na TPP). 
 Results: Stirring 1200 rpm time 2 h produce response. has entrapment efficiency 71.10%, a particle size 110.2 nm, polydispersity index 0.268. dry powder HCl produced drug loading 66.14±1.71% yield 34.07±0.73%. FT-IR showed interaction (cross-linking) ammonium ions from phosphate Na TPP. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis 150 µm, spherical shape, rough surface morphology. In profiles indicated prolonged release, which follows Korsmeyer Peppas model. Conclusion: It can be concluded that increasing will improve reduce particles variation. mechanism by diffusion matrix erosion.
